Overview
I had the opportunity to work on the 2025 Xerophilous: Desert Botanical Festival trifold for The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens— a printed piece created to guide guests during the one-day celebration of desert plants. Although I’m not a graphic designer by title at the Zoo, I stepped in to support the team when design capacity was limited.
On the outside, I designed a functional event map highlighting garden tour meeting points, scheduled talks, and activity zones — all optimized for easy day-of use. Inside, I created a take-home native plant guide, featuring desert plant species from the festival and helpful notes for guests to reference when planning their own desert-friendly gardens at home.
This project allowed me to combine my strengths in storytelling, design thinking, and guest-focused communication — resulting in a resource that was not only beautiful, but useful during and beyond the event.

Day of Event
During Xerophilous 2024 and 2025, I had the opportunity to go around and get photos and video of the festivities. My goal was to highlight the unique atmosphere of Xerophilous — where conservation, education, and celebration come together — while also creating a library of content that could be used across marketing and social platforms.
